Laughter yoga is laughing for no reason through playful exercises, movement, eye contact and a willingness to laugh. The body can’t tell the difference between real and initiated laughter and creates the same benefits. It’s called laughter yoga because of the combination of childlike playfulness and breathing. It was started by Dr Madan Kataria in India in 1995.
Benefits of laughing include better mood, less stress, 25% more oxygen which makes us alert, better social relationships and resilience to life’s ups and downs
Anna Semlyen is a qualified, insured laughter yoga leader. Come and enjoy laughing. It’s easy and fun. This is not a mat based class. All are welcome
Classes are last Wednesdays of the month 7.30-8.30pm – 24 Grange St, York Y010 4BH off Fulford Road. Suggested donation is £6 / £4 concessions
